YO: A Multifunctional Lounge Chair with Clear Lines and Simple Look

YO follows ergonomic principles to ensure comfortable seating while incorporating pure geometric lines that abstractly form the letters Y and O. This design choice not only adds visual interest but also creates a contrast between the massive, wooden construction and the light, transparent composite cloth of the seat and back. The tension of the cloth is achieved through the interweaving of fibers, giving it a corset-like appearance.

One of the standout features of YO is its multifunctionality. The lounge chair is complemented by a stool that can be rotated to transform into a side table. This versatility allows YO to adapt to different needs and spaces, making it a practical and stylish addition to any room.

The materials used in the construction of YO are carefully chosen to enhance both its aesthetics and sustainability. The chair and stool are made of plywood for the construction, while the seat and back utilize a flexible composite material. This high-tenacity polyester yarn not only provides durability but is also 100% recyclable, making YO an eco-friendly choice.

With its dimensions of Width 548 mm x Depth 719 mm x Height 780 mm for the lounge chair and Width 548 mm x Depth 396 mm x Height 396 mm for the stool, YO offers a compact yet comfortable seating solution.

YO made its debut in November 2012 at the Month of Design exhibition in Ljubljana, Slovenia. It was also nominated for the Design of the Year award in 2012 and showcased at the Ambient Ljubljana Furniture Fair. The design's unique combination of functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability has garnered recognition, including the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in 2013.
